Dollie Berry, a resident of Brooklyn, New York City, sadly passed away on 16 May 2026, aged 112.
Berry was born in Reva, Culpeper County, Virginia, on 7 March 1914, to Burnette Booten and Sallie Shanks. She had nine siblings (eight of whom were older). When she was 13, her father died, and she was sent to New York to live with her aunt Mary. She eventually became an accomplished seamstress, fashion designer, and social worker.
In 1936, she married Arthur Berry, and the couple went on to have two children. Throughout her life, she maintained a home in Culpeper County, which she continued to visit once or twice a year, even in her old age.
At the time of her death, she was one of the 10 OLP in the USA.
