Mr. Michele Gai of Diano Castello, Imperia, Liguria Region (ITA) very sadly passed away today.
Her niece called me this afternoon.
He was the Oldest Living Man in Liguria Region, 10th OLP in Italy, Vice Doyen of Italy, 7th Oldest Living Man in Europe.
He was born on 23 December 1915 in Turin, Piedmont Region (ITA).
I am really sad.

Michele Gai, Italy’s Second-Oldest Man, Dies at 110
Michele Gai, the second-oldest living man in Italy, passed away today in Diano Castello, Liguria, at the age of 110 years, 154 days. His passing was confirmed by Supercentenari d’Italia.
Michele Gai was born in Turin, Piedmont, Italy, on 23 December 1915.
For 35 years in Turin, he pursued a military career as a non-commissioned officer in the Army. In 1972, after being discharged, he moved to Liguria and settled in Cervo. There he began working as a pharmaceutical representative and commercial agent. He also served as secretary of the bocce club in San Bartolomeo al Mare.
As of May 2026, the oldest living man in Italy is Vitantonio Lovallo, 112, a resident of Avigliano, Basilicata.

Funeral service of Zio Michele will be tomorrow 28 May in Cervo, Imperia, Liguria Region (ITA). He was fine the day before he sadly passed away. He did not suffer at all. He fell asleep.
