I’m sad to announce that the second-oldest person I knew (and oldest that I had met more than once), actress Carole Cook (née Mildred Frances Cook), sadly passed away this afternoon, 11 January 2023, in Beverly Hills, California, United States, aged 98 years, 362 days. She was born on 14 January 1924 in Abilene, Texas. Carole was just three days away from her 99th birthday when she passed away from heart failure. The last time I saw her was on Christmas Eve 2022.

Rest in peace, Carole Cook. I’ll always remember you. 😢

The picture is me at the age of 5 with Carole on her 91st birthday in January 2015.

Interested in supercentenarians since 27 July 2018.
First supercentenarian I learned about: Kane Tanaka (1903-2022)
