@chrisr that's very true. What kind of documents are currently known that do support João's age? I would definitely be interested in trying to research his case more, but I feel as though I'm reaching the "end" of the rope due to me not being able to look up online records for people in other countries. I have found Facebook posts for him dating back to 2017, and in each one his age and birthdate of 13 March 1908, I've talked to relatives, and I found out the age of one of his sons, but I'm not exactly sure what else I can do. I have a vigorous motivation to find more on his case, but I've run out of ideas.

The GRG has validated the age of Col. Jerzy Pajączkowski-Dydyński. He was born in Poland on 19 July 1894 and died in the UK on 6 December 2005, aged 111 years and 140 days.

Although the validation was announced on 13 September 2023 (ten years after pending status), apparently he was validated on 20 January 2016.

Between validations of GRG we can find also Ms. Katsugo Tago (JPN) (b. Mar. 28, 1910, 113) and Ms. Andree Bertoletto (FRA) (b. Jan. 1, 1911, 112).

Except we both know this to be untrue. Marco and myself were both admins at the GRG at that time, and we can confirm Col. Jerzy Pajączkowski-Dydyński's case was not validated prior to our departure in January 2020.

I’ve never understood the point of substantially backdating a validation in this way.

There may be technical points around process or when the key details actually became available.

But perceptions of poor management or organisational chaos tend to override these when we see nonsensical dates attached to validations confirmed, now in the latter half of 2023.

In these days GRG has validated Ms. Jadwiga Szubartowicz (POL) (Oct. 16, 1905 - Jul. 20, 2017, 111) (but formally validated with the date Jan. 26, 2016).

What I find most intriguing is that the policy at the time (early 2016) was not to validate any living supercentenarians under the age of 111 (as Robert was adamant about having the oldest living people validated) So what's changed in the meantime? Where is Robert's influence here?
