Marco, I´m very happy for you that your granny is still living. I´m sure you are aware that this is one of the greatest treasures in life. Hopefully you two do have lots of common years to come.
-mom's side-
My grandmother is alive at age 75. (born on 19 March 1947) however she can't talk, walk, or do anything except for sleep alone after a stroke in April 2018.
My grandfather died on 28 April 2020 at age 73 (May/Dec 1946-28 April 2020) of a bad heart attack.
-dad's side-

Hey I wanted to share with you an interesting family story. I have heard the story that my paternal great grandfather met his grandfather as a child back in the 1910s, who would have been my great-great-great grandfather, but I'll just call him my grandfather x3 for this story. At the time my grandfather x3 was 108 years old and was described as very healthy. He was able to ride horses with ease, and chop wood. And still traveled from town to town on his horse. Apparently he lived more years and was a SC at the time of his death.
Personally I believe this story to be true, as my great grandfather was not the type to tell tall tales. Maybe he confused his age, but my dad's family is very organized at keeping family records. My Dad's family also is very private about their heritage and does not want any publicity about our history, as this is why I am not allowed to share his name or any name of our family. I myself do not know my grandfather x3's age, as my family knowing that I have an interest in longevity, do not want me to know his true age, as they fear me giving his and the family's personal information on the internet.
I have always wondered myself, how old he really lived to be. Was he older than Kimura? Considering the magnitude of documents & records my family has, and how well they have been preserved, I have no doubt that his age would be easily authenticated. Well maybe not easily, but I am confident that he would be validated. I would guess he was born in the 1820s, and passed away in the 1930s. Depending on how old he was, he may have been the WOLM at the time of his death. Or he may have even been older the Kimura. But if either of these scenarios were true, and were leaked to the internet, it might cause my family much publicity, and I would have to deal with the consequences of not respecting their privacy.
Nevertheless, this story that I had heard many times as a child, really sparked my interest in supercentenarians. Longevity runs rampant on my dad's side of the family and since childhood I had heard many stories and seen many pictures of centenarian family members. Unfortunately I was not able to meet these relatives, because they either passed away before I was born or are scattered all over Central & South America. The two things I found in common is that they were all spared from the diseases of old age, and they were all men. And as a small child my great grandfather was around 90 years of age, and he would often say he wanted to live to be a SC, and incredibly he made it, and to this day he is the only one I have ever known in person. Every year he would countdown the number of years he had left to reach his goal, and I remember over the years being fascinated as he got closer and closer. And although he passed away soon after his SC birthday, he was fully aware of his age, and proud that he had reached his goal.
So anyway, that's my story on grandparents and great-grandparents...etc And also how I got interested in SCs.

@024tomi I had forgotten to add a great uncle on my maternal grandfather's side, haha. I will add now.
In Spain it was common to have numerous children until 1960s-1970s. Then, it was started to decline, and currently the average children per family is approximately 1... This drop may be because people want to study more (at University...) and focus on their own lifes. And most of people think raising children is too expensive. Also, women now work, so it's more difficult having lots of children...
