The godless antichrist and satan cult follower was liquidated. A day of joy.

I would have rather favored a concrete humanist approach instead of a mystical/irational one, like: the oppressor of several million people and mastermind of the murder of tens of thousands among them is dead.

Now before saying that's "a day of joy", let's see by what he'll be replaced...

We usually stay away from all political matters on this forum, having especially seen what it did to another Forum in terms of conflicting views and disharmony.

Let’s see what emerges for Iran over the coming days and weeks and hope for the safety of civilians.

Admittedly, one should never rejoice over the death of a person. If he is (really?) no longer alive...

I was happy for millions of enslaved Persians who are now allowed to draw hope.

The administrator is welcome to delete my post. The words of an impulsive old man who believes he has fought for justice all his life.

A sign of our increasingly negative times is that we can no longer talk about most things together...

Is this the right way? I think not. It will deepen the trenches even more until the downfall.

If you wish to speak about it Anonymous14 you can Personal Message me if you like.

The key point is that these political topics can cause arguments based on people’s political views and that can destroy forums intended for other purposes.

i have a friend here in Sydney called Massoud. In 1979 he was 17 and his father made him leave with his 15 year old sister, because they were Christians, under the new regime.

They came to Australia to escape. You can imagine how he and his family are feeling right now.

Although I agree with ChrisR that political matters often and quickly become divisive, I also feel we are not the 110 Club - and I do think political matters should be up for discussion, provided that messages rejoicing anyone's pain, suffering, or death are avoided. Violence is never the answer.

That being said, if members (or my team of moderators) vehemently oppose any threads of a political nature, then obviously we will respect that, and not allow for such threads.

For now, let's hope the situation quickly deescalates. Yesterday, 108 lives were lost in a girl's school in the south of Iran. Terrible news.

ChisR, thank you for your words...

I can absolutely understand your arguments and experiences. You are basically right.

Forums should better mostly remain free of politics. Yes, the interest in a cause should be the most important and unifying thing.

We don't want to be the place for discord and division. There are plenty of them.

I can learn a lot from you. That would be something for a personal message. I thank you for the friendly offer, which I  will accept for later, because I am too agitated at the moment...

I am so happy for all the Massouds of this world. May it be the beginning of a new, better era.

So I end with self-criticism. I know that one extremism is just as harmful and bad as the other... I only feel so infinitely sorry for the young people as the world is today... But let us still remain full of hope.

Thank you, Administrator, for your words and, above all, patience with me.

Through you and other members I can become a better person. You are never too old to become wiser;-).

Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to talk here in a civilized, moderate and humane way about something that moves one very much...

May the countless women and men who have been so endlessly tormented in Iran rest in peace and their families may be comforted. It hurts so terribly...
