Hazel Plummer was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, USA, on June 19, 1908.
Ms. Plummer became the oldest known living person in the state of Massachusetts following the death of 112-year-old Dorothy Brown on November 26, 2019.
As of August 20, 2022, she is the third-oldest validated living person in the United States, behind Ms. Hendricks and Ms. Ceccarelli, and the fourth-oldest validated living American-born person, behind Ms. Branyas Morera, Ms. Hendricks and Ms. Ceccarelli. She is also the second-oldest validated person ever from the U.S. state of Massachusetts, behind Bernice Madigan.
Ms. Plummer is the 9th oldest living person of the world.

On 3 January 2023, following the sad passing of Ms. Hendricks, Ms. Plammer became the 7th-oldest validated living person in the world, the 2nd-oldest validated living person residing in the USA, and the 3rd-oldest validated living person born in the USA.
