The fourth-oldest living person in Japan—Ms. Yukie Takahashi (高橋雪枝) of Akiruno City, Tōkyō Prefecture, has sadly entered "limbo" at aged 113.
According to the data, as of October 1, 2026, the oldest living person in the city is a 107-year-old woman. As you all know, the last confirmed date on which Ms. Takahashi was still alive was September 16, 2026.

It is believed that she was likely the oldest living person in Tōkyō from around March 2026. Tōkyō is notorious for never announcing changes regarding its oldest resident, so I had somewhat anticipated that this might eventually happen—but it is truly sad...
Sad news to hear.
Best wishes or rest in peace Ms Takahashi.
Very sad news. 😔
