Today, we honor two great supercentenarians. Jiroemon Kimura, the oldest validated man in history who was born on this day (April 19th), and Kane Tanaka, the 2nd oldest validated woman in history, who died on this day.ย
The memories will carry on forever, and you will remain in our minds.
Kane Tanaka was the WOLP at the time that I began my interest in Supercentenarians.ย

It was highly symbolic that Tanaka turned 110 when Kimura was still alive and died on what would have been Kimura's 125th birthday.
May they both RIP. Sex-adjusted, their ages were comparable to each other's. And they were both from Japan. And both claimed to be slightly older than their official ages.
