Zoraida Montezuma, Costa Rica’s Oldest Resident, Turns 112

Zoraida del Carmen Montezuma, the oldest known living person in Costa Rica, is celebrating her 112th birthday today in San Rafael de Escazú, San José Province.

Montezuma was born in Limón, Limón Province, Costa Rica, on 31 October 1913.

On 20 June 2025, following the passing of 114-year-old Marita Camacho Quirós, the former First Lady, she became the oldest known living person in Costa Rica.
