Ms. Irma Henderson Burke, the oldest resident at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington, Virginia (USA), went to be with her Lord and Savior on 14 March 2026, where she will join her parents, Leslie Pascal and Catherine Brent Lawson Henderson; her husband, Wade Raleigh Burke; her sisters, Augusta.
She sadly passed away at age 110 years, 170 days.
She was born on 25 September 1915, and she was the 3rd oldest living person in Virginia, behind Alice Langford and Frances Byers.

American Woman Irma Burke Dies at 110
Irma Burke, a resident of Lancaster, Virginia, USA, passed away on 14 March, at the age of 110 years, 170 days.
Burke was born in White Stone, Lancaster County, Virginia, on 25 September 1915, to Leslie Pascal Henderson and Catherine Brent Lawson. She graduated from high school at 16 and began working at the Peoples Bank of White Stone in January 1933. She remained in banking for 44 years, retiring from the Bank of Virginia, with only a four-year break following the birth of her daughter.
In 1936, she married Wade Raleigh “Tater” Burke (1914–1946), who owned and operated the Esso gas station in White Stone. They had one daughter, Catharine Moore.
After retirement, Irma volunteered for 27 years at Rappahannock General Hospital, contributing more than 12,000 hours of service.
