The latest population statistics data, compiled on April 1, 2026, has been released by Kyōto City, Kyōto Prefecture.
According to the data, the oldest living person in Shimogyō Ward (下京) was a 108-year-old man, and there were no residents aged 110 or older. This likely means that the an anoymous woman, who was the second oldest living person in Kyōto Prefecture, became a "limbo case" at the age of 113. The last date she alive can be confirmed is January 1, 2026.
She was born on November 15, 1912.
It's sad that SCs born in 1912 are rapidly disappearing from Japan in this way...
