Unfortunately, LQ reports that Mrs Tsune Kimura (木村ツネ) of Kazo, Saitama, Japan has entered limbo, aged 112. She was born on 12 January 1913, and was last confirmed alive on 1 January 2026. (The oldest person in Kazo on 1 April 2026 was a 105-year-old woman.)

Tsune Kimura was the oldest person in Saitama since March 10, 2025 (fl 297 days), the longest time since Hisako Shiroishi, who was between September 18, 2020 - August 26, 2024 (3 years, 343 days). She died at 112 years, 354+ days, the youngest as the oldest person in Saitama since Chiyo Kato, who died at 110 years, 359 days on September 18, 2020.
She is the first person from Kazo to be considered the oldest in Saitama.
I hope her actual date of death will be known soon.
