Pictures of 6 July 2025.
She is still able to walk, at her home in Sturno, with a walker and the loved daughter near her.
In the pic where she is walking (or simply standing) she seems to be in one´s nineties.
Today Ms. Sangenito ties the final age of Ms. Venere Pizzinato of Verona (Veneto) at 114 years 252 days and she enters Top 5 Oldest People Ever in Italy.
On 24th September 2025, following the sad passing of Ms. Pereira, Ms. Sangenito became the World's 4th-oldest validated living person.
Nonna Laurina (ITA, 114.9) on 30 September 2025 during the local religious procession:
(picture with her daughter Maria, 80, and the mayor of Sturno).
Its great to see Ms Sangenito can still get out and attend events of this type.

On 10th February 2026, following the sad passing of Ms. Tessier, Ms. Sangenito became the World's 3rd-oldest validated living person.
Family Tree of Nonna Laurina:
@ale76 Interesting to get a look at Ms. Sangenito's family tree, it does seem like longevity runs in her family given her mother's case... I do wonder if more of her ancestors were also long-lived (for their time, at least), given that the missing death years imply many of their lifespans are unknown?
And wow, her paternal grandfather was born when his parents were both only 15? That does seem quite young, even for the time (and especially in the case of the great-grandfather). (I assume minimum legal ages of marriage back then would be 14 for men and 12 for women, as those were, if I recall, something the Roman Catholic Church kept from the Roman Empire?) What a contrast to her paternal grandmother, too, who seems to have been a late in life child for her parents given the dates.

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."

Since 17th February 2026, following the sad passing of Ms. Ricci, Ms. Sangenito has been 3 years and 126 days older than the next oldest living italian person (Mr. Lovallo).
Today Ms. Sangenito ties the final age of Sister Gaudette of Rome (Lazio) at 115 years 110 days and she enters Top 4 Oldest People Ever in Italy.
@ale76 Congratulations to Ms. Sangenito for reaching this amazing milestone! 🙂

She is also in the top 20 oldest people to have lived in the 2020s.
On June 2024.
That photo appears to be from your visit to her in 2024 as it appears here https://longeviquest.com/2024/06/visiting-italys-second-oldest-resident-113-year-old-lucia-laura-sangenito/
3 days ago Laurina, Italian Doyenne for 1 year and 195 days, became the longest-serving Doyenne (in terms of length of the record as Doyenne) since Emma Morano in 2017 (unreachable, Zia Emma was Italian Doyenne for over 4 years).
@ale76 Congratulations to Ms. Sangenito for reaching this amazing milestone!

On June 2026 in Sturno, Avellino, Campania Region (ITA).
Today Nonna Laurina ties the final age of Sig.ra Dina Guerri ved. Manfredini of Pievepelago, Modena, Emilia Romagna (ITA)/Johnston, Iowa (USA) at 115 years 257 days and she enters Top 4 Oldest People Ever born in Italy.

And now both are at number 37.

The bad new picture of Nonna Laurina was finally posted today online.
The picture was taken on 2 Aug. 2026.
Please don't post this picture here: family asks me that for the forum where I write and for the italian site.
Her daughter said Laurina was sleeping because the night before was terrible, sleepless.
However we have already known, for several months, Laurina was frail after several health problems.
Frail, yes, but stable conditions for some months. And still lucid.
Forza Nonna Laurina.
Vogliamo rispettarti e non accetteremo qui foto (o simili) non gradite alla famiglia.
Thanks everyone for comprehension!
