That’s correct - LQ doesn’t recognise her at this stage.

As you’ll know the GRG have come up with a fairly big number of validations recently, this one being trumpeted for Mrs Kern being over 115.

Plenty of work likely needed before relying on this one unfortunately.

Supposedly there was family help, though some are apparently dubious in this regard.

I'd argue that them "validating" Easter Wiggins as being 116 goes one step further than Edna Kern. The evidence for Wiggins, for whom I (along with a very helpful clerk) did the research, is shaky at best.

My memories are very vague and I am not very sure if I found the right matches at the time, but I recall deciding not to further pursue the case because with what I had located, it seemed to be age-inflated. Nonetheless, I wasn't sure if the records located were correct because I didn't have much information to start with. Moreover, I don't remember the family claiming she died at 115, but rather 113. However, I do no longer have any record or detail of it because I didn't take the case very seriously back then. I was positively surprised when the GRG validated her, thinking they may have found additional information, contacting family, and locating the correct matches. However, reading on here about the GRG's recent handling of validations, my skepticism has resurfaced.

Thanks for replies. It's just when I saw her on Ale's list I assumed she had reached a higher level of credibility than some of those other claims.

I do not doubt that Mrs. Kern was a SC. The documentation suggests 113+. The question is, rather, if she was indeed 115 and older than she and her family claimed. The 1910 census suggests that she was born in 1900 but later documentation indicates that she was younger.

It could be. At the time, I didn't even come to the conclusion that her maiden name was Ammann...

@ecad There is a marriage report for her and her husband in a local paper.

And just pointing out that Emma V Johnston appears twice on the LQ list, Nos. 145 and 146.
