German-born Holocaust-survivor Ms. Ruth Friede Lansing née Oberlander of USA, sadly passed away last month 5 April 2024, aged 105 years and 144 days.

She was born on 13 November 1918 in Odenkirchen (Moenchengladbach), North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Her parents Ricka and Siegmund Oberlander and her sister Gertie were deported to Auschwitz and killed. 

Ruth was able to escape, later she emigrated to the United States and survived.

Ms. Ruth Lansing aided in the prosecution of the leaders of the Third Reich and Nazi Germany at the Nuernberg Trials, she worked as employee for the U.S. Army as  translator.
