Known, yes... but there might be more surprises. I believe we only discovered about Arthur Bates, for instance, six or seven years ago - well after his death!
Overduidelijk misschien.
Thinking back to that time when I lived in NZ.
Arthir was a bit of a noted figure (as was his age) largely due to his passionate love of cricket. He appeared on a NZ television documentary in respect of cricket when he was not quite a superxentenarian.
His name was overshadowed after that, in that there was another (somewhat younger) Arthur Bates who was a fairly well known historian and writer in NZ.
Clearly this detail wont get him validated, but he was certainly around. Shame on me for forgetting him.

Do you know if this documentary has ever ended up online? If not, I wonder if it can be purchased from somewhere.

The one I recall was certainly based on the game of cricket and not Arthur’s life. In essence I believe he was basically shown as the oldest known supporter or follower of the game, in New Zealand, rather then anything else.
Ill rack my brains further overnight (Australia time) and see what else emerges. It would have been last century that this occurred.

An anonymous lady born on 10th September 1912 who is currently residing in Aomori Prefecture, Japan has recently been validated by LongeviQuest.
Great to see another incomplete case solved! (This validation can be narrowed down to one possible option/positive identification by checking the statistics for Aomori prefecture.)
